Jive Hub 

  • Welcome to the Jive Hub - 

partner dance events for bonafide dancers of the Modern Jive, 

Leroc / Ceroc, Chillout / Smooth Jive, Blues & WCS communities, 

with occasional classes & workshops when stated.

NB - Events without specific classes, are unsuitable for first time beginners. Some events eg The Edge, are less than suitable for very early novices. 

Our events listed below, are held (unless otherwise notified) 

at Berkhamsted Town Hall, 196 High St, Berkhamsted, Herts, HP4 3AP 

NB :  Following the lifting of restrictions in the Summer of 2021,

we return to dancing with our various events.

To be fair to all, we ask everyone attending the following:

Please show us,  as a condition of & upon entry;

 evidence of your negative lateral flow test result done on the same day as the event

(Nhs text or email or 'in app' confirmation)

and that you are showing no symptoms of covid, flu, colds or similar.  

Sorry, no exceptions. This applies regardless of your jab or natural immunity status.

Lines are open, every day, 7am until 11pm. 

See the booklet received within the box of lateral flow tests for info.

Texts are sent to your phone as soon as you've reported your result.

Tests are currently available free of charge, from local health centres, chemists and online.

Unfortunately, the risk of Covid transmission cannot be eliminated completely.  If you feel uncomfortable with the risk, please do not attend our event until such time that you feel is right for you and your circumstances.

We thank you in advance for complying with this and helping all in the dance community, to minimize the chance of any viral, colds & flu transmission.

Please observe the dancing communities' respectful & decent request for good hygiene.

As a member of the dance community, how can you help?
Well, clean hands matter.
You can 'do your bit' to reduce the spread of the virus
or indeed any cold & flu bugs, through good personal hygiene.
This includes:
Hand washing ( for 20 seconds) and hand sanitising during your visits.
Making use of the soap and any sanitisers available,

inc bring your own hand gels..

Please familiarise yourself with the latest Government or NHS guidance and
do not visit dance venues if you have any cold or flu symptoms or
are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and are advised to self-isolate
Follow Government guidance if you are a returning traveller

For health and safety reasons, we no longer supply plastic /  disposible cups.

Please bring your own resuable drinking container / coffee cup / water bottles etc to enable you to enjoy any tea / coffee / water that is be available.

NB: Polite notices.  

These halls have excellent floors and prohibit the use of talc 

or any other substance for use,  or on dance shoes, in the dancing areas/floors,  as well as anywhere in the building. 

Aerial type / lift dance moves, are not permitted. 

Appropriate dance shoes / sensible footwear are required,

eg Flip flops, & Stilleto heels are not permitted on the dancefloors for safety and possible damage reasons.

We ask all dancers to respect other dancers'  safety & personal space;  also to respect the buildings' facilities / rules etc, while dancing with us.

Saturday 02nd October - Modern & Smooth Jive, 830pm-Mid. £10

Sunday 10th October- Jive & Chill, 7-10pm, £10

Sunday 10th October - Jive & Chill, 7-10pm, £10

Proof of Negative Lateral Flow Test (taken on the same day as the event) is required upon entry.

A great night of music and dance that regularly ends on a high! 
Mainly medium tempo tunes amongst others,
to suit the mood of the evening

Sunday 19th September - The EDGE, 7pm - 1045pm.

It's the Edge. A highly respected event giving you some unique tunes like no other, inc top Uk djs. There's no high pace thud thud.

The music caters for a mixture of genres with medium / slower tempos & is ideal for smooth modern jive, blusey/modern blues & musicality/expressive dancing.


Monthly Saturday's Monthly Modern Jive, 830pm - Midnight, 

A popular monthly dance with mainly modern jive music and some smooth tunes too. Friendly crowd with sensible music across the board.

Occasional - Sunday Chill in Puttenham Village, near Tring, 7-10pm,

or if full, please park in the local street/s with consideration for others.

We return to the lovely Cecila Hall in Puttenham, for an evening of music and dance that's both mellow, yet uplifting!

Mainly medium tempo tunes amongst others, to suit the mood of the evening, along with the occasional surprise.
